From its inception in Ontario in 1902, Canada Malting Co. Limited has grown to become the largest malting company in Canada, producing 450,000 metric tons of malt annually.
From malt plants in Calgary, Montreal and Thunder Bay—all within easy reach of maritime ports—Canada Malting supplies quality malts to brewers, distillers and food processors throughout Canada and the United States and around the world.
Canada Malting owns and operates a network of grain elevators, through its Canada Malting Grain group, which allows it to source the right varieties and quality for its customer base. The company also owns and operates Coastal Containers, an export container loading facility in Vancouver, BC. This world-class malt-handling facility loads malt into oceangoing containers and manages the bulk loading of vessels out of the Port of Vancouver, BC. Coastal Containers also supplies bulk malt in trucks to brewers throughout British Columbia. With its extensive container shipping network, malt can be efficiently shipped to many destinations, including Asia and Latin America.
