Steve Haydon

Steve Haydon – President and CEO – GrainCorp Malt

Steve Haydon was appointed President and CEO of GrainCorp Malt in 2011 and operates from the International Headquarters in Chelmsford England. Prior to this Steve joined Bairds Malt in 1999 as CEO. Steve has nearly 20 years of experience in the North American and United Kingdom malting industries. Prior to joining the industry Steve’s experience included serving as development engineer at Johnson & Johnson in the US and as project engineer in the UK corn syrup and sugar industries.

Greg Friberg

Greg Friberg – Chief Commercial Officer

In 2011 Greg was appointed Chief Commercial Officer at the International Headquarters in England. Prior to this Greg was President of Great Western Malting (GWM) in 2005. He joined UMH in 1999 as Director of raw material procurement for Great Western Malting and Canada Malting. Greg was appointed vice president of sales and procurement at GWM in 2003.

Prior to joining GWM, Friberg worked for approximately 14 years at ConAgra Grain Company in various roles, including manager of grain operations and merchandising. He had previously worked as a grain merchandiser at Columbia Grain Inc.

Mike O'Toole

Mike O’Toole – Chief Financial Officer

In 2011 Mike was appointed Chief Financial Officer at the International Headquarters in England. Prior to this Mike was the North American Controller having joined UMH in 2008 as the assistant controller.

Prior to joining UMH, Mike worked for approximately 14 years in Public Accounting most recently at Ernst & Young as a Senior Manager in Assurance Services.

Andrew Smith – Strategy and Business Development Manager

Andrew joined the business in March 2012 and was based in Sydney before moving his family to the UK. He is now Strategy and Business Development Manager for the Malt group.

Andrew began his career in Insitututional Banking with ANZ Bank in Sydney. He grew up on a family beef and wool property in southern Australia. Keen to move into agriculture Andrew took a Management Cadetship with Grainco Australia Limited (now a subsidiary of GrainCorp) where he undertook a number of roles.

In 2003 he travelled to London and worked for Diageo PLC as a Corporate Finance Analyst and later took a role with Westminster City Councils outsourced services and Proteus on consulting assignments. Andrew rejoined GrainCorp in Brisbane as Commercial Manager

John Holliday – President, North American Operations

From 2006-2009 John was Vice President and General Manager of Cargill’s Canadian flour milling business (Horizon Milling).

Prior to 2006, John worked for over ten years at Robin Hood Multifoods, ultimately becoming Vice President Commercial Foods and Supply Chain before that company was acquired by Smucker Foods of Canada.
At Smucker he was Vice President Supply Chain and General Manager Foodservice until it was acquired by Cargill in 2006.

Noel Johnson

Noel Johnson – General Manager Barrett Burston Malting

Noel Johnson has been with Barrett Burston Malting Company for 25 years and was appointed General Manager in December 2011. Noel has extensive industry experience and has previously held roles as Financial Controller and General Manager Finance with BBM.

Peter Schill

Peter Schill – Joint Managing Director Schill Malz

Peter holds a degree as Master in Brewing Engineering from the Technical Univeristy in Munich-Weihenstephan and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona/Spain Peter Schill joined the brewing industry in 1990 and held several positions in sales and marketing before joining Schill Malz as Managing Director in 1998. In 2011 Schill Malz became part of the GrainCorp Malt Group.

Roger Woodley

Roger Woodley, President Bairds Malt

Roger was appointed CEO of Bairds Malt Ltd in April 2011 from his previous role as Commercial Director. Roger joined the then Hugh Bairds & Sons back in July 1974 and has gained a wide experience throughout the business undertaking a number of roles. He gained the malting diploma 1986.
